WORKERS COMPENSATION CLAIMS EXAMINER needed for a Corporate Entity located in Downtown, San Diego.

HOURS: Full time hours, Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. (In office. No remote).
DURATION: This is a temporary position, approximately 2 – 3 months.
PAY: Depending on experience, $40/hr. - $43/hr.
BENEFITS: Weekly payroll, direct deposit, online time entry, sick leave pay, and upon meeting eligibility: holiday pay, vacation pay and 401K Retirement Plan.
The qualified candidate must have recent experience working as a Workers Compensation Claims Adjuster, processing CA claims.  

Duties can include, but are not limited to:

Analyze and manage claims by investigating and gathering information to determine the exposure on the claim.
Manage claims through action plans to an appropriate and timely resolution.
Communicate claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client.
Negotiate settlement of claims within designated authority.
Calculate and assign reserves to claims.
Ensure claim files are properly documented and coding is correct.
Calculate and pay benefits; approve and make timely claim payments and adjustments. Settle claims within designated authority level.
Maintain professional client relationships.
Other duties as required.

Regular and consistent attendance as defined per Company policy.
Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Ability to use computer keyboard and sit in a stationary position for extended periods as well as the use of office equipment such as fax and copy machines, and telephones.
May be required to stand for extended periods of time.
Must possess effective communication and listening skills such that complicated information can be communicated in a straight forward manner that the listener can understand, as well as paraphrasing and questioning to gain a complete understanding of the speakers concerns and goals.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, set goals and meet deadlines. 
Must be a team player that possesses strong customer service and problem solving skills. 
Must have a professional demeanor, be detail oriented, organized, highly ethical and have a positive attitude.
